Authors Guideline

Author Guidelines:

  1. All articles should be sent to the editor's email address: editor.alalwah@gmail.com.
  2. After submitting the article, please also send two hard copies.
  3. Articles written in English should be on A4 size paper using MS Word. The font should be Times New Roman, size 12 for text, 14 Bold for headings, 12 Bold for subheadings, and 11 for footnotes and references.
  4. Use the 1 MUHAMMAD QURANIC font for Quranic and other Arabic phrases.
  5. On a separate sheet of paper, provide your full name, address, office address, phone/mobile number, fax, and email along with the date of writing and your signature.
  6. Articles can be considered for publication only after approval from experts in relevant topics, adhering to the standards of the Higher Education Commission (HEC). However, the responsibility for non-publishable writings does not lie with the institution.
  7. Include a 200-word abstract in English at the beginning of the article.
  8. For citation use either APA or MLA.
  9. For Quranic references, use the format: Quran 3:113 (mention the source of the translation as well).
  10. For Hadith references, use the format: Muhammad bin Ismail al-Bukhari, Al-Jamii-o-Al-Sahih, Book of Sacrifices, Chapter on Eating the Meat of Slaughtered Animals (Dar al-Islam, Riyadh, 1417 AH), Hadith 5530.
  11. For referencing books, use the format: Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Sarakhsi, Usul al-Sarakhsi, (Dar al-Ma'arifah, Beirut, 1977 AD), Vol. 1, p. 350.
  12. For referencing journals, use the format: Muhammad Shahbaz, A Review of Contemporary Muslim Critics of Western Thought, Ma'arif Research Journal, Karachi, (2017 AD), 2:5.45. Or use APA. (However, be consistent throughout the document)
  13. English transliteration is provided for Arabic and Urdu words. Authors should take note of it. However, the name of the scholar should be written as they themselves write it. For Arabic, you can use www.jaghbub.com for assistance.
  14. This journal accepts articles in the fields of Social Science and Islamic Studies.
